From Reps to Relationships: Sharing My Story on the Podcast
I'm incredibly excited to share that I recently had a powerful conversation with Tami Schiltz on her podcast, and it was one of the most fulfilling discussions I've ever been a part of.
If you know me or my work at Functional Integrated Training (FIT), you know we're dedicated to helping busy parents and professionals thrive—not just survive. But this conversation with Tami went deeper than reps and sets. We explored how the work we do in the gym is a direct link to the health of our emotional lives, our relationships, and our ability to lead.
For the first time, I shared a very personal part of my journey: the childhood wounds of feeling unseen and disconnected. It was a turning point that ultimately shaped my entire mission. That feeling of wanting a "big brother" is exactly why I founded FIT—to be that supportive, consistent, and guiding presence for the men and women I coach.
We dove into the crucial intersection of fatherhood, fitness, and fulfillment, covering topics like:
How those early wounds can actually shape your purpose and leadership style.
The profound role physical health plays in boosting your self-worth and emotional connection.
The eternal balancing act of high-achieving careers and being an intentionally present parent.
Why we all need to embrace progress over perfection.
This episode is a heartfelt reminder that you are worthy of showing up, just as you are. If you’ve ever felt pulled in too many directions, or if you're looking for a fresh perspective on how to be a better partner, parent, or leader, this is for you.
